about BCS... MISSION

Bloomington Chamber Singers is a community-based, non-profit corporation registered with the State of Indiana, and owned and governed by its singers, each of whom upon admission to the group becomes a voting member of the Corporation. 

BCS provides a rare avenue for amateur singers to regularly perform major choral/orchestral works and to benefit from the guidance of a professional conductor. The excellence of the ensemble is reflected in the large number of individuals who audition each year and the consistently large audiences.

Over its 35 years, the group has increased in size, has developed an effective governing infrastrure with apprpriate financial resources, and most importantly has developed a level of musicianship and breadth of repertoire that is well-recognized and lauded.  Period evaluations of mission and vision have consistently confirmed that while many things have changed and will continue to change, the fundamental reason for the group's existence continues to anchor the organization and represents a set of values that are passionately nurtured.
